PATCH-AWARE GUIDE HUB / v1.0.6

Answers for the part where the fish fight back.

How to Fish is a chaotic 1–4 player adventure built around fishing, shooting, selling, quests, and boss fights. This guide hub focuses on the questions that stop a run: where to go next, what to hand to an NPC, and what to try when a save or lobby goes sideways.

What changed around v1.0.6?

The official 1.0.6 announcement says the game now checks save files before loading and no longer saves server or local state when the application crashes. Manual Save, Main Menu, and Quit actions still save, alongside an every-minute autosave.

DON'T TREAT THIS AS A GUARANTEE

A Steam reply can reveal a useful recovery step without proving it works for every save. Pages here label community reports separately from official patch notes and route details.

QUICK ANSWERS

Before you launch another run.

What kind of game is How to Fish?

It is an action-fishing adventure where catching creatures is only the first step. You sell useful finds, buy gear, complete handoffs, and survive boss encounters while trying to get home.

What should I do with a rare boss drop?

Do not sell or discard a distinctive boss drop until you have checked the route guide. Several progression steps are delivery-based, so a valuable-looking item may be a key rather than ordinary loot.

Is the radar the main mechanic?

No. The important mental model is the catch–sell–upgrade–escape loop. The in-game radar is a navigation tool; it should not be the centerpiece of this guide site.

How reliable are community fixes?

They are useful leads, not universal guarantees. Each page separates official patch notes, source-backed route details, and community reports so you can choose the least risky test first.
