PROGRESSION / BOSS ROUTE

How to Fish islands in order

The game uses a practical color-coded route rather than formal island names. Clear each handoff, take the new coordinates, and use the boat radar to find the next stop.

White islandSpider Crab
Green islandGiant Piranha
Yellow islandPufferfish
Red islandTuna → Albatross
Purple islandBowhead → Mutated Bowhead
Quick answer: Lighthouse → Spider Crab → Green island → Giant Piranha → Yellow island → Pufferfish → Red island → Tuna → Albatross → Purple island → Bowhead Whale → Mutated Bowhead Whale. The final handoff is the whale tail to the scientist, followed by the scientist's boat.

Route at a glance

StopTrigger / baitBoss or objectiveHandoff that moves the run forward
WhiteGive beer to the Lighthouse Keeper; use the empty can.Spider CrabGive the crab shell to the Keeper → boat key; buy or use radar to locate the next coordinate.
GreenCollect three leeches and give them to the woman; use the leech bait.Giant PiranhaGive the piranha bones back → next island coordinates.
YellowGive the tourist a suitable endangered creature; use the carrot.PufferfishGive the pufferfish fin to the tourist → Red island coordinates.
RedUse the Professional Boss Lure for the tuna; leave the tuna as bait.Tuna, then AlbatrossGive the Albatross head to the quest NPC → Purple island coordinates.
PurpleGive the scientist five animals; use the Fish Bucket.Bowhead Whale, then Mutated BowheadGive the whale tail to the scientist → military boat key and the ending route.

Terminology note: “White,” “Green,” “Yellow,” “Red,” and “Purple” are convenient radar-color labels used by the supplied Steam guide. They are easier to search than inventing formal island names the game does not clearly display.

Boss order and practical loadout

The useful lesson from the current route guide is that the newest weapon is not automatically the correct answer. Pick for the arena and attack pattern, not for unlock order.

EncounterPractical approachWhy it helps
Spider CrabKnife or brass knuckles; bait a charge and sidestep.A missed charge creates a short punish window.
Giant PiranhaPistol for minions; keep dynamite as a burst option.Clear small fish for health or money before committing explosives.
PufferfishSMG with magazine and recoil upgrades; use trees as spacing tools. Its larger body is easier to hit, but the poison trail makes greedy chasing dangerous.
TunaKeep the SMG; use stairs or the casino table to break its pathing. The fight is more about terrain than the sniper unlock.
AlbatrossSMG with a larger magazine and recoil control; retreat into a building for attacks.Cover lets you reset after the dive or ranged attack.
Bowhead WhalesAssault rifle; keep moving in open ground and watch the lava.Standing still is riskier than giving up a few shots.

The final handoff people miss

  1. Defeat the Bowhead Whale and carry the body to the volcano.
  2. Survive the Mutated Bowhead fight; keep your feet out of fresh lava.
  3. Pick up the dropped whale tail.
  4. Give the tail to the scientist for the boat key.
  5. Start the scientist's boat to trigger the ending. A boss kill alone is not the final interaction.

Co-op shortcut

Use a simple “runner and shooters” split: the player being chased prioritizes movement, while the others keep the boss in a safe line of fire. Swap jobs if the target changes. This is a tactic reported in the supplied Steam guide, not a developer-documented mechanic.
