Route at a glance
| Stop | Trigger / bait | Boss or objective | Handoff that moves the run forward |
|---|---|---|---|
| White | Give beer to the Lighthouse Keeper; use the empty can. | Spider Crab | Give the crab shell to the Keeper → boat key; buy or use radar to locate the next coordinate. |
| Green | Collect three leeches and give them to the woman; use the leech bait. | Giant Piranha | Give the piranha bones back → next island coordinates. |
| Yellow | Give the tourist a suitable endangered creature; use the carrot. | Pufferfish | Give the pufferfish fin to the tourist → Red island coordinates. |
| Red | Use the Professional Boss Lure for the tuna; leave the tuna as bait. | Tuna, then Albatross | Give the Albatross head to the quest NPC → Purple island coordinates. |
| Purple | Give the scientist five animals; use the Fish Bucket. | Bowhead Whale, then Mutated Bowhead | Give the whale tail to the scientist → military boat key and the ending route. |
Terminology note: “White,” “Green,” “Yellow,” “Red,” and “Purple” are convenient radar-color labels used by the supplied Steam guide. They are easier to search than inventing formal island names the game does not clearly display.
Boss order and practical loadout
The useful lesson from the current route guide is that the newest weapon is not automatically the correct answer. Pick for the arena and attack pattern, not for unlock order.
| Encounter | Practical approach | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Spider Crab | Knife or brass knuckles; bait a charge and sidestep. | A missed charge creates a short punish window. |
| Giant Piranha | Pistol for minions; keep dynamite as a burst option. | Clear small fish for health or money before committing explosives. |
| Pufferfish | SMG with magazine and recoil upgrades; use trees as spacing tools. | Its larger body is easier to hit, but the poison trail makes greedy chasing dangerous. |
| Tuna | Keep the SMG; use stairs or the casino table to break its pathing. | The fight is more about terrain than the sniper unlock. |
| Albatross | SMG with a larger magazine and recoil control; retreat into a building for attacks. | Cover lets you reset after the dive or ranged attack. |
| Bowhead Whales | Assault rifle; keep moving in open ground and watch the lava. | Standing still is riskier than giving up a few shots. |
The final handoff people miss
- Defeat the Bowhead Whale and carry the body to the volcano.
- Survive the Mutated Bowhead fight; keep your feet out of fresh lava.
- Pick up the dropped whale tail.
- Give the tail to the scientist for the boat key.
- Start the scientist's boat to trigger the ending. A boss kill alone is not the final interaction.
Co-op shortcut
Use a simple “runner and shooters” split: the player being chased prioritizes movement, while the others keep the boss in a safe line of fire. Swap jobs if the target changes. This is a tactic reported in the supplied Steam guide, not a developer-documented mechanic.
