Where to get the bow
Before you start
Use the Islet update (v1.1.0 or later), have boat access and earn euros. The current bow price, fixed coordinates and all co-op purchase rules are not verified here.
- Find the landmark: search small rocky islands for the tower/castle-like structure and target area described in the references. No fixed compass bearing is established.
- Inspect the purchase: confirm that the offered item is the bow and check its current euro price. Do not use an old dollar budget or a price copied from another version.
- Buy and equip it: confirm the bow is available to your character before leaving. Use the input prompts in your own settings rather than an unverified keybind chart.
- For Hobin Rood: kill a creature with an arrow. Buying the bow or merely hitting a creature does not meet the official wording.
Success check
You can equip the purchased bow. For the separate achievement, check Steam for Hobin Rood after an arrow kill.
If it does not work
No purchase at the landmark: confirm the object and game version before assuming the island is broken. Insufficient funds: check your euro balance and the live price. No achievement: distinguish an arrow hit from a kill; the sources do not establish how assists or co-op credit are handled.

Ironsights and wishbone upgrades after v1.1.2
The official patch restores downgrading to ironsights and changes wishbone upgrade prices. Check the live upgrade prompt; an older guide saying ironsights cannot be restored is out of date. Exact current prices are not independently verified here.
Official patch context: v1.1.2; checked 6 October 2026 against the Steam announcements.
Choose by bottleneck
| If this happens | Prioritize | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your crosshair leaves the target | Recoil or handling | More damage does nothing if the shots miss. Stabilize the weapon before chasing a higher ceiling. |
| You die while reloading | Magazine or reload | Long boss animations create brief damage windows; reduce the time you spend exposed. |
| Small enemies surround the team | Reliable rapid fire | Control and target switching matter more than a slow, high-damage shot. |
| You cannot create space | Movement, terrain, or defensive utility | Survival creates more total damage than standing still for one extra volley. |
| The boat trip is the bottleneck | Travel improvement | Once the combat problem is under control, shorten repeated route time. |
Weapon rules that hold up
- Use the weapon you can aim. A familiar, controllable loadout is more valuable than an upgrade that looks impressive on paper.
- Build around the arena. Open ground rewards movement; trees, stairs, tables, and buildings can create reset points for a boss attack.
- Keep one burst option. Dynamite or another explosive is most useful when the target is committed to an animation or trapped in a predictable line.
- Do not spend the last cash on a speculative upgrade. Keep enough for the bait, delivery, or practical upgrade that starts the next island.
Explosives after patch 1.0.11
The official 1.0.11 notes changed team safety: you can die from your own explosives even when friendly fire is disabled. Treat dynamite as a co-op hazard, leave clear space around the throw, and do not use the old “friendly fire off means safe” assumption. Patch 1.0.12 separately says explosives should damage the final boss when they land on its tail; it does not publish a universal damage value or timing window.
Useful author tests, not universal rules
The newly supplied v1.0.6 route guide adds three practical hypotheses that improve this page's decision tree. It reports that automatic weapons can still damage a distant flying boss when shots connect, that the suppressor is the author's preferred muzzle option for automatic weapons, and that there is no fixed number of bullet upgrades every player needs. These are author-tested notes, not official balance statements.
| Player question | Candidate answer | Evidence state |
|---|---|---|
| Do I need a sniper for the Albatross? | Try a controllable SMG from cover first; the guide reports no distance damage falloff when the shot connects. | Single author test / replay pending |
| Which muzzle upgrade should I buy? | The author prefers the suppressor for automatic weapons because the in-game description presents a stronger recoil reduction; confirm the current item text and feel. | Needs-verification |
| How many bullet upgrades are required? | Stop when the weapon clears the current encounter reliably. Do not publish a fixed upgrade count without a same-version comparison. | Decision rule |
Route loadouts
| Encounter | Practical choice | Fight note |
|---|---|---|
| Spider Crab | Knife or brass knuckles | Bait the charge, sidestep, and punish the recovery instead of chasing constantly. |
| Giant Piranha | Pistol for minions; dynamite as burst | Clear smaller targets when they create pressure, then spend explosives on a clean opening. |
| Pufferfish | SMG with magazine and recoil help | Use trees for spacing and stop shooting when the purple poison trail makes the path unsafe. |
| Tuna | SMG and terrain | Stairs or the casino table can interrupt the target's pathing and create safer angles. |
| Albatross | SMG with larger magazine and recoil control | Retreat into a building when you need to reset after a dive or ranged attack. |
| Bowhead encounters | Assault rifle and constant movement | Open ground and lava punish stationary play more than a small loss of firing time. |
Evidence boundary: the encounter notes come from the supplied community route guide and are useful starting tactics. They are not official balance data, and exact prices or unlock conditions may change.
